How billing works

IBANfox billing is very straightforward, but varies slightly depending on the type of account you have – free or paid.

Free accounts

Your free subscription includes a certain number of API requests. This number may change from time to time. The authoritative place to verify the inclusive quantity is on our pricing page for the tier marked “Free”.

Once you have used the number of inclusive requests in an activity month, the API server will reject any additional requests with an HTTP status code of 429 Too many requests. Note that an activity month begins on the anniversary of your registration, not on a calendar month.

When one activity month ends and the next one begins, your usage quota will be reset to the monthly quantity included in the Free plan.

There is no restriction on how long you can use a free account.

Paid accounts

Your monthly subscription includes a certain number of API requests. The number of included requests depends on the tier you purchased. Review available tiers on our pricing page. Your monthly subscription is charged in advance of the month of usage.

Once you have used the number of inclusive requests in an activity month, we will begin to charge for additional requests at the amount set applicable to your tier. We refer to these charges as “overage”. Overage charges are charged in arrears on the invoice following the activity month.

Note that your activity does not get blocked when you have used the monthly inclusive quantity of requests.

An activity month begins and ends on the anniversary of your upgrade to a paid tier from the free, not on a calendar month.

When one activity month ends and the next one begins, your usage quota will be reset to the monthly quantity included in your plan.
